For the past few weeks, Sam hadn’t stopped thinking about Tamara. He couldn’t figure out why it was happening but he knew when it started.
About 6 weeks ago, Sam and Dean were at a shopping mall. Both of them weren’t into shopping only when it was needed. In this case, it was. It had been at least a year since they had bought any new clothes and their stuff was starting to look worn out.
Sam was fooling around on his laptop that particular Sunday afternoon because he was bored. He was playing Sudoku while Dean watched some TV. They had been in Virginia for the past few days but nothing supernatural had been occurring.
Sam shut the lid of his laptop shut.
“Dean, I think it’s time!”
“Time for what?” he asked, sounding a little bit annoyed.
“Time to get some new clothes, dude,” Sam announced.
“Oh that,” he replied.
“Yeah. Well, since we aren’t doing anything, how about we head to the shopping mall. There is one not too far from here.”
Dean rolled his eyes.
“Sam, you know I hate shopping. Can’t you go alone?”
Sam could sense Dean was in one of his moods.
“Well, I would be I wanted some company. There is one advantage to going though.”
“What?”
“Women!” Sam smiled. He knew that would capture his attention.
Dean brightened at that thought.
“Okay. Let’s go!”
Dean was whistling to the song playing on the radio while Sam just listened. He could see the parking lot in the distance.
When they finally parked, they both jumped out of the car.
Sam heard Dean stomach rumble and he grinned.
“Maybe, we should head for the food court first.”
Dean nodded. “Lead the way.”
On the way there, he saw a woman that resembled Tamara because of the haircut, style of dress, etc. She was window shopping, looking at some dresses. All of sudden, she spun around and it wasn’t her. Sam was disappointed somewhat. His instincts told him something was going with her but he wasn’t sure what. He made a mental note to himself to phone her when they got back from the mall.
Sam and Dean spent the next few hours shopping and having a good time at the mall. Sam peered through the mall window’s and saw it was getting dark.
“Maybe, we should head back to the motel.”
“Right,” Dean agreed.
Sam felt his phone vibrating as Dean walked in front of him. He stopped to listen to the voicemail.
“Sam! I know it has been a few months since we last spoken but I didn’t know who else to turn to. Could you phone me back right away?” Sam heard how frantic she sounded and he knew he was right about something going on.
Sam ran to catch up with Dean.
“Who phoned?” Dean asked.
“Tamara.”
“Tamara?! Oh,Tamara. I remember her.” Dean said smiling.
“She’s a very pretty and feisty woman. The type of chick I would have hit on if she wasn’t married.”
Sam shook his head.
“I know Dean.”
“It seems you two have gotten close,” Dean smirked.
“It’s not what you think.”
“Oh really? Then why is she calling all of a sudden, huh?”
“Come on, Dean. Maybe, she just needs a friend.”
“Or maybe she wants more than that from you. If that’s the case, I say, go get Sammy!!” Dean punched his arm.
Sam rolled his eyes as put the bags on the back seat.
“Why can’t women and men just be friends? It doesn’t have to be just about sex.”
Dean leaned against the driver’s door.
“For some, I think you’re right. But others, no.”
